The 2023 Mazda MX-30, a distinguished EV

2023 Mazda MX-30

The 2022 Mazda MX-30 succeeded in rallying urban drivers looking for a stylish, refined electric vehicle. The exceptional silhouette and sophisticated interior of this first all-electric vehicle from Mazda won it a great deal of praise.

For 2023, the Mazda MX-30 won’t change in appearance, but should still offer enough new features to make it an appealing purchase, opening new horizons. The first big novelty will be the inclusion of a range-extender rotary engine.

What’s new for the 2023 Mazda MX-30?

You can rest assured that the Mazda MX-30 is back for 2023 with some new developments, powertrain designs and ways of driving. While the Mazda MX-30 features an exterior that’s identical or nearly identical to the current model, it offers further solutions in terms of engine efficiency. The presence of a gasoline-powered rotary engine should double the current 161-kilometer range.

This little engine, which has already proven its efficiency, will act as a veritable generator. Consequently, it will provide surplus energy to increase the possible distance between recharges. The new Mazda MX-30 will still avail of a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery linked to an electric motor located near the front axle. And in terms of power, the motor will continue offering 144 hp and 200 pound-feet of torque.

A refined look

The 2023 Mazda MX-30 will retain the previous model’s distinctive design elements, including the rear-hinged doors (or “suicide doors”), an exclusive feature in its class. The cabin will be as modern as ever, but will still boast ecological materials, such as cork and wood paneling.

Technology will also play its part in ensuring enhanced comfort inside the new Mazda MX-30. For example, the power-adjustable seats with memory settings will enable you to save your preferred positions perfectly. Meanwhile, a large screen on the dash will enable you to stay connected, play your favorite music and synchronize your Apple CarPlay or Android Auto apps.

Safety also takes a front seat. The 2023 Mazda MX-30 will feature i-ACTIVSENSE, as well as a suite of top-notch driver assist technologies.

Esthetically, the silhouette should remain the same, but the new color, Rhodium White, and the two-tone aspect of the 2023 Mazda MX-30 will complete the look. However, you’ll have to wait a few more months before you see it arrive at your Solution Mazda dealership.
